In our opinion there is no finer metal polish that the ubiquitous Autosol. It has been around since Stonehenge had a roof on it and has never been bettered - it simply does what it says on the tube! We still use it on our classic Kawasakis applying to the aluminium parts as we have for decades with bits of old T shirt.
The only caveat is that it is a metal polish, NOT a chrome cleaner and plenty of chrome plating has ruined over the years by folks polishing chrome with metal polish. It is a fine abrasive and as chome is only plated a few microns thick it can easily be removed leaving the thicker nickle plate showing it's more yellow finish.
